Business acquisition – Alexander & Co advises Wynnstay Group PLC on a £9.5 million acquisition

We recently assisted publicly quoted company Wynnstay Group PLC with their acquisition of Humphrey Feeds & Humphrey Pullets for a total initial consideration of £9.5 m in cash. This is the latest in a series of business acquisitions in which Alexander & Co has provided assistance.

Alexander & Co provided Wynnstay Group PLC with financial and tax due diligence of the acquisition.

Wynnstay Group Plc acquired the share capital of Humphrey Feeds & Pullets, a manufacturer and supplier of poultry feed.

The business will remain operating as Humphrey Feeds & Pullets, as a subsidiary of Wynnstay Group Plc.

Gareth Davies, Chief Executive of Wynnstay Group Plc commented:

“We believe that this will be an excellent acquisition for Wynnstay. Humphrey is a long-established, family-owned business, with an 85-year history, which prides itself on ‘advancing poultry performance’. It makes a highly complementary addition to the Group and should be capable of being readily integrated.

Stephen Verber, Partner at Alexander & Co who advised Wynnstay Group Plc commented:

“We are delighted that Wynnstay Group has completed the acquisition of Humphrey Feeds & Pullets. It was a pleasure to work with FD, Paul Roberts, Gareth Davies and their team.

“We hope this acquisition will be a positive step in continuing to build Wynnstay’s growing presence in its UK market”
