Accountancy firm Alexander & Co is the latest professional services firm to beat a path to MediaCityUK, Salford Quays.
It will have an office of its own and a presence for Pareto Alexander, an independent financial advisory joint venture set up with Pareto Financial Planning. The operations will be up and running from the start of next month at The Greenhouse.
Alexander & Co, which will continue to operate from its HQ in Manchester city centre, said its new branch would offer a one-stop shop for accountancy, tax and financial advice to companies and individuals.
Adrian Berg, senior partner at Alexander & Co, said: “Being an Equity-recognised adviser, Alexander & Co has experience in advising media and creative industries and, with the strong financial advisory service provided by Pareto Alexander, we will be able to offer financial planning and business advice to established and start-up businesses and individuals.
“We will combine the wisdom of experienced personnel with the fresh ideas and spirit of our younger associates.”
Pareto Financial Planning director John Stevenson said the opportunity was ‘too good to miss’ as it looks to increase its reputation in the creative sector.
“With over 5,000 people already working at MediaCityUK, the new base will allow us to be part of a unique community,” he added.
Mr Stevenson set up Pareto in 2008 with George Chantry. The business employs 15 staff, including independent financial advisers and tax experts. Law firm JMW has an office at The Greenhouse while Manchester rival Ralli has a presence at the Digital World Centre.
The Greenhouse is home to a variety of companies including Baby Cow Productions, Libra Television, Antix Productions, Dreamscope Productions and Armstrong Legal.
The Rugby Football League is to open an office there next month as it gears up for the 2013 World Cup. It will be the base for a dedicated team that will administer the 14-nation tournament. The RFL is taking 2,100 sq ft with the aim of having 20 staff.
MediaCityUK managing director Stephen Wild said Alexander & Co and Pareto Alexander ‘make a great addition’ to the diverse range of companies at The Greenhouse.
