We were introduced to Alexander & Co in 1986 during our MBO after our initial advisors could only negotiate with our backers that we would be given 20% of the equity. Alexander & Co turned the deal on its head and, with the support of one of their business angels, Eddie Brady and I ended up with 84% of the share capital.
They subsequently engineered and helped us obtain funding for the acquisition of a major competitor and have been a constant source of support and strategic advice on all aspects of our business and taxation affairs. This support has given us the confidence to develop from a £4million turnover with 40 staff to our present £100 million and 500 employees.
MD’s want to concentrate on running their business while their advisors concentrate on all the business advisory and regulatory problems faced by a company the size of Stax. I want to be able to sleep at night; Alexander & Co allow me to do that.
